reduced by three percentage points.
AISI 1040 and AISI 1045
In the AISI specifications, the capital letter
(digits) prefixes are used to indicate the manufacturing
process, in this case, carbon steel. The following
2 digits represent the chemical composition.
1040
Carbon: .37 to .44
Manganese: .60 to .90
Phosphorus: .040
Silicon: .050
1045
Carbon: .43 to .50
Manganese: .60 to .90
Phosphorus: .040
Silicon: .050
AR 200
This product is a lower grade of wear resistant
steel plate, which is referred to as AR 200 or AR
